Idolatry is frivolity—only if the idol is frivolous. And the one I put up as an idol is frivolous and full of misplaced hatred. I want no parts of the sacrilege my young self created. I don’t run away from my past, but I learn from my blasphemous mistake.
I wrote this years ago. I regret involving Kanye West and using his name on this project. I recognize that it is sacrilegious and I rebuke it. I can’t scrub the project off the internet. I don’t mind letting the world know that I made a big error in judgement. Art is meaningful and I muddied my art with this blasphemous gimmick. There are only a couple hundred copies of this book and each are numbered. Every picture has been X’D out in bloody red. I don’t speak from a place of hatred. The Kanye West of Old, particularly Yeezus influenced this work greatly. TEEZUS does not need YEEZUS & YEEZUS does not know TEEZUS. He did influence me at one point, but I stand by myself. My work is strong enough without some sort of gimmick. A human shall never be an idol. I hope you find some salvation in this cruddy world. Do not make mere men idols. This edition has X’d out Kanye West. He is mere mortal. No man should have such power bestowed upon him. I reject my old ridiculous idolatry. Jesus created Teezus and I strive to be merely a reflection of his awesomeness.
